Our Wines
What began with a small family plot of half a hectare and the challenge of working the Baga in a different way has become a deep passion for Bairrada, its wines and a way of farming based on sustainability, soil regeneration and respect for the ecosystem.
White Vadio
Depth, Texture, Persistence
Vadio Branco is born from Bical and Cercial grapes coming from vineyards planted in sandy and clay-limestone soils, revealing the consistency and freshness that characterize the great whites of Bairrada.
The grapes are harvested in the early hours of the morning, whole-cluster pressed, and vinified separately. The Cercial ferments in stainless steel tanks to preserve liveliness and aromatic purity, while the Bical ferments in used barrels, bringing complexity and a more enveloping texture to the final blend. Both wines age for 8 months on fine lees, gaining structure and depth.
On the nose, intense citrus notes and delicate salinity stand out. On the palate, the vibrant acidity and marked texture of Bical shine through in a tense and elegant ensemble, with a long and precise finish.

Vadio Finuum
Saline, Oxidative, Complex.
Finuum is born from the same historic base as Espumante Perpetuum, initiated in 2007, along with a selection of carefully chosen barrels aged under a fine layer of flor, inspired by the great finos of Jerez. The result is a still wine of strong character and personality, where time reveals itself with delicacy and precision.
Produced from the Bical, Baga and Cercial grape varieties, with an initial vinification similar to that of Perpetuum, Finuum stands out for its ageing in barrels under flor, which adds complexity, subtlety and saline notes to the wine. Each harvest is integrated with care, allowing the wine to maintain consistency, freshness and identity, faithfully reflecting the terroir of Bairrada.
On the nose, notes of dried fruits, toasted bread, a light touch of brioche and mineral nuances evoke Atlantic freshness. On the palate, it is elegant and dry, with vibrant acidity, delicate texture and a long, persistent finish, marked by the influence of ageing under flor.

Vadio Red
Vibrant, Delicate, Balanced.
Coming from several Baga vineyards planted exclusively on clay-limestone soils, this wine authentically expresses the Atlantic character of Bairrada and the unmistakable texture of Baga grown on limestone.
Each parcel is hand-harvested at different times, respecting the optimal ripeness. At the winery, the grapes are destemmed and fermented in small tanks with indigenous yeasts, preserving the identity of each vineyard. The extraction is gentle, and the wine ages for 24 months in used barrels and vats, allowing a delicate and balanced evolution.
On the nose, it reveals the classic elegance of Baga and the vibrant freshness of Bairrada. On the palate, it is precise and delicate, with bright acidity supporting very fine and polished tannins that prolong the finish harmoniously.
Grande Vadio Red
Texture, Intensity, Elegance.
Grande Vadio represents the purest expression of Baga in Bairrada, defined by its elegance, freshness, and remarkable ageing potential. It comes from hillside vineyards, where sun exposure allows for better ripening and where Baga reveals itself at its best.
Each vineyard plot is vinified in small tanks, with gentle manual pump-overs that respect the integrity of the grapes. After pressing, the young wines are immediately transferred to used 500L barrels, where malolactic fermentation and a minimum ageing of 12 months take place. Bottling happens earlier than with Vadio to preserve greater fruit definition and a more precise tannin texture.
On the nose, the wine shows great fruit clarity, with wild berries and balsamic notes typical of Baga. On the palate, it is harmonious and elegant, with fine tannins and a well-balanced acidity.

Vadio Rexarte
Precision, Elegance, Minerality.
Vadio Rexarte was born from the desire to explore the uniqueness of single vineyard parcels — areas that have stood out over time for their distinct identity.
Produced only in exceptional years and in limited quantities, Rexarte comes from a roughly 0.3-hectare parcel on a north-facing slope, with soils transitioning between sandy and clay-limestone. Due to its orientation, this is one of the last parcels to be harvested, as the ripening process is slower. To craft this wine, an exceptional year with a dry harvest is required to achieve perfect ripeness — the fruit at its best state, offering concentration, elegance, and precision. For us, Rexarte represents the ultimate expression of Baga’s finesse.
The winemaking reflects this care, with fermentation in small tanks, partially whole cluster, and manual punch downs, using indigenous yeasts. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine ages in used 500-litre French oak barrels, where it takes its final form.
On the nose, it highlights the essence of Baga with fresh red fruit and balsamic notes. On the palate, it combines power and elegance, finishing balanced and persistent, ensuring long ageing potential in bottle.
Vadio Rexarte celebrates precision and uniqueness, the result of attentive care given to parcels that express themselves in a special way.
Vadio Cancelinha
Depth, Minerality, Structure.
Cancelinha comes from a single 0.4-hectare parcel, located on a gentle south-facing slope with clay soils rich in limestone. The sun exposure gives the wine greater intensity, concentration and warmth, allowing Baga to express its full character with elegance and precision, faithfully reflecting the terroir of Bairrada.
Made exclusively from the Baga variety, this wine is produced only in exceptional years, when the vineyard offers ideal conditions for a complete and balanced expression. It follows a natural winemaking approach, without any treatments, preserving its authenticity and resulting in the presence of some sediment, a true sign of its genuineness. The parcel is harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and vinified with minimal intervention, safeguarding the pure expression of the vineyard and the intensity provided by its southern exposure.
On the nose, ripe red fruit stands out, alongside subtle balsamic notes and a pronounced minerality shaped by the limestone soils. On the palate, it shows harmony and elegance, with firm tannins and intense structure, vibrant acidity, and a long, enveloping finish that reflects the energy and character of the south-facing slope of Cancelinha.

Vadio Sparkling Perpetuum
Depth, Texture, Persistence.
Honouring the long tradition of sparkling wines in Bairrada, Espumante Perpetuum represents our vision of continuity, precision and respect for time.We reinvented the production of Vadio Espumante through a Solera method started in 2007, which today already integrates more than 10 harvests in the base blend, creating a wine with a unique, profound and timeless identity
Produced from the Bical, Baga and Cercial grape varieties, each parcel is hand-harvested in the early hours of the morning, followed by gentle whole-bunch pressing. Fermentation takes place entirely in barrel, with around 6 months of ageing on lees, giving structure, complexity and creaminess to the base wine.
At the beginning of each new year, around 30% of the Solera blend is drawn off for the new tirage. This volume is then replenished with wine from the most recent harvest, perpetuating the cycle harvest after harvest, ensuring consistency, depth and character over time. Respecting the traditional method, the second fermentation takes place in bottle, with a minimum ageing of 18 months before disgorgement.
On the nose, it shows great complexity and elegance, marked by dried fruits, candied fruit and a subtle salinity. On the palate, it is creamy and rich, with balanced acidity, fine bubbles and remarkable depth.

Vadio Sparkling Rosé
Delicate, Persistent, Elegant.
With Espumante Vadio Rosé, we set out to explore the most delicate and versatile side of Baga. We selected vineyards located at the bottom of the Dom Pedro Valley, around 20 years old, where the natural vigour of the variety prevents excessive ripening and acidity plays a central role, bringing freshness, precision and great elegance to the wine.
The grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed, with very gentle extractions. Fermentation takes place between stainless steel tanks and used barrels, respecting the purity of the fruit while adding complexity to the final blend. In February, blending and tirage are carried out, followed by a second fermentation in bottle according to the traditional method. The minimum ageing on lees is 18 months before disgorgement.
With a very delicate salmon colour and a fine, persistent mousse, it reveals fresh red fruit aromas and subtle notes of elegance. On the palate, it is vibrant and fresh, supported by lively acidity and balanced by the creaminess of the mousse, resulting in a precise and engaging profile.
